|
How many times have you heard of people setting goals when it comes to fat loss? Almost everyone at one time or another has set their fat loss goals and the first thing they usually do is to tell themselves that “this time will be different”. Other may even write their goals down, look at them from time to time, and once they don’t see the result they were looking for they abandon those goals. You will also hear many suggestions that one should write down their goals and by doing so, it will insure that the fat loss goal will be accomplished. This all sounds great but why doesn’t it work? Is setting goals for fat loss a waste of time and if so what should one do? Setting fat loss goals is a waste of time if done by itself. What also needs to be done is a goal achieving process. Goal setting needs to be supplemented with goal achieving. Of course one has to know what their goals are and they should be written down. When writing down your goals you need to be absolutely clear what it is that you want to accomplish. In addition you need to have the action steps necessary to achieve those goals. A great way to boost the goal setting and goal achieving processes is to write positive affirmations that relate to your goal. A positive affirmation is a statement that you would write that clearly states what you want to do and should be written either in the present (“I now have the body of my dreams because I lost 25 pounds”) or written in the future and referring to the past ( “I have lost 50 pounds in the last 6 months”). By writing these positive affirmations you are “reprogramming your brain”, mostly your subconscious mind, for success. When writing these positive affirmations, do not worry about the “how to”. Do not worry about how you are going to lose the fat. All you need to do is just affirm and reaffirm it in your mind. Write between 10-15 affirmations and review them in the morning just after you wake up and at night right before you go to sleep and at least one other time during the course of the day. When you write your affirmations be careful of the words that you chose. Phrases such as, “ I will”, “I hope”, “I think”, “I don’t know if”, “I’m going to”, “I wish”, “eventually”, etc need to be eliminated because these words are telling your mind that someday you will versus that you are. Use phrases such as, “I am”, “I have”, “I now”, etc. Have fun with this and remember that you are the only person who can create the body you want and there are no limitations. Remember, you have to believe it first before you see it. Related links: Cheap Affordable Health Insurance: online for health care information, advice, and quality insurance coverage .....
